Evaluation Question 7

In media we were asked to make several films which showed different camera angle shots. On the left we can see our character rushing towards a door, we used the camera technique of over the shoulder shot and fast movements to reflect on her rushing. Instead of using the technique of other the shoulder we decided to use a different technique by developing out understanding of the different shot types. In the shot on the right we have our character sitting in total darkness by a desk, during this seen our character is seen slamming her badge on the table which reads 'Happy Birthday. We decided to do a high angle shot, instead of over the shoulder to refelcts on her emotions of 'upset', 'despressed' and 'small' as well as using a dark room with no lightning. I think that us developing the technique of a high angled shot helped in making our film more effective as it made our audience see that our character is sad and small and her emotions are getting the best of her.

Both these shots are smiliar as we used the technique of close-ups. The shot on the left is an extreme close-up of our characters face and we decided to use this technique as it helped to show the feelings of our through her expression rather than through the music in the background. However, we decided to use a smiliar technique of close-up but rather than making it extreme we made it a basic close-up. This was to show our characters have trust in one another as they held hands. I think that us developing the technique of extreme close up helped in making our film more effective as it reveals more and gives the audience a deeper understand.

Both these shots are the same as we used the technique of the 180 degree rule. The shot on the left is a middle shot of our characters having a conversation and the shot on the right is a shot of our main character walking.

We decided to use different types of shots to show the audience what our character is seeing. In the shot on the right we used an over the shoulder shot to show the audience what our main character is seeing. whereas, we decided to improve on this technuique by instead letting our audience see what our main character is seeing through her eyes. This helped to make our audience feel more involved within the film.
